Fortunately the book Secrets to Dog Training can go a long way to helping make the experience more pleasurable for you and your Bulldog. While Secrets to Dog Training is not marketed specifically at owners of American Bulldogs the book does offer a lot of general dog training methods and techniques that you can use while training your American Bulldog.

Secrets to Dog Training is over 260 pages in length, not to mention the plethora of bonus materials included, and was written by respected trainer Daniel Stevens. All of the methods and techniques, as well as tips, tricks, hints and advice, have been tried and tested by Stevens himself. Even the most experienced trainers will learn a thing or two in Stevens detailed dog training guide. What I like most about this book is that Stevens had the foresight to break his training program down into three distinct and easy to understand levels. Each level deals with three distinct areas of dog ownership including Understanding, Wellbeing, and Training. As you progress through the levels the training tends to get more complex as the dog’s age progresses and it develops the capability to learn new things and perform certain tasks. One of the hardest parts of training an American Bulldog is keeping training organized and to the point. With Stevens’ system, trainers are guided along the training process to ensure they are teaching their dog what they need to know and that they are not progressing beyond their dogs capability to learn.
